FC INTER – VIKINGUR: PREDICTIONS

FC Inter will expect nothing less than victory over their Faroese rivals after the indignity of a draw in the 1^st leg. Still all to play for in this Europa League encounter.

FC Inter of Turku in Finland are like their opponents a new side, only formed in 1990. They have only recently tasted success with a single league championship (2008) and two cup victories (08, 09). Surprising the side from Finland have not had much experience in European competition and have only played 11 matches in their history. They have only 1 win, 4 draws and 6 defeats so far.  Indeed  they have only progressed through 1 tie in their short lifetime, beating Akanes of Iceland.

Vikingur of Gota in Faroe Islands have only been in existence since 2008 so to make a European match against Finnish rivals still a contest into the 2^nd leg it’s all credit to them.  Vikingur have never won the Faroe league but have two Cup titles to their name and one last year which gave them entry into Europe.  Vikingur have only played 5 games in continental competition including this 1^st leg.  Their draw at home to Inter was their 1^st positive result and indeed their 1^st ever goal. In four games against Besiktas and Gomel they managed 4 straight defeats and conceded 17 goals.  Midfielder Solvi Vatnhamar will miss the game with a suspension.
