FC Minsk v Standard Liege predictions and betting tips

FC Minsk has been in poor form this season. 6-6-9 domestically and winless in five league games is not a good stat. In the Europa Cup Qualification so far things have gone a little better. They have disposed of Valletta and St. Johnstone (on penalties). The squad is for most parts home grown, and contains no current Senior Internationals. They have a couple of promising youngsters though with minutes for the Belarus U21 side. Overall I don’t rate this FC Minsk side very highly. FC Minsk will miss captain Sosnovski and midfielder Bukatin. Those are two of the better players in the squad.

Standard Liege has started really well in the PRO league. 4-0-0 and a goal difference of 8-0 impress most of us. It must be said they haven’t met the title contenders yet. In Europa League qualification they have impressed as well. They beat KR of Iceland 3-1 both home away before Greek Xanthi was beaten 2-1 both home and away. Standard Liege has 3-4 players in their squad competing at senior level internationally and a few more in the youth divisions. The squad looks quite balanced, and all though the Belgian league quickly gets drained when it comes to talent they have built a capable crew.

Standard Liege will have to recompose their midfield as Buyens, Vainqueur and Ozturk all are out. They do however have plenty of players capable to take on this Belarussian side.
