This is the first match of Europa League group E, and Fiorentina from Italy are hosting P.Ferreira from Portugal. Fiorentina are one of the favourites to win the Europa League and naturally also the big favourite to win this group. P.Ferreira are considered to be the third best team in the group, behind secon Dnipro and well ahead of Pandurii from Romania.

Fiorentina have started the Italian season quite well and are in 4th place after three matches, with two wins and one draw. But the opposition were Catania, Genoa and Cagliari so results were not that much better than what would be expected.
