JABLONEC – REAL BETIS: PREDICTIONS

Europa League playoffs continue with an excellent game in Czech Republic, its Jablonec v Real Betis.

Jablonec were inaugurated in 1945 and have contested top flight football since 1994. The clubs fortunes have gradually increased over the years and they are slowly climbing their way up the league each year.  From a mid-table regular in the mid to late 90’s they now find themselves consistently finishing in the top have and have reached runners up as recently as 2010. They grabbed their second Czech Cup last season that gives them a chance in this competition. They opened up with a decent 3-1 aggregate over Norwegians Stromsgodset, winning both ties. Jablonec will miss midfielders Zoubele and Rossi. The latter is not a regular.

Real Betis finished an impressive 6^th last year. A position they should have improved upon but did have a stuttering end to the season. To try and push on this year they have brought in a huge amount of players; Xavi Torres is the pick of the transfers but also in are Defenders Didac Vila, Jordi Figueras and Markus Steinhofer Midfielders Cedrick, Juanfran, Joan Verdu and Lorenzo Reyes with Forward Chuli also arriving. They opened up with one of the worst possible matches, an away tie against Real Madrid. Betis though played an excellent match, they caused and endless amount of problems for Madrid with their powerful running and counter attacking style. A 2-1 win for Madrid was hard on Betis who thoroughly deserved a point.

Real Betis has doubts over Juan Carlos, other than that they will still be without Castro, Reyes and Vilarchao.

Real Betis should have few problems in this game if they play anything like they did at the weekend. Very fast, attacking football with men arriving from deep caused a far superior side problems.
