An ex-Yugoslav derby as Koper of Slovenia host Hajduk Split. Koper are not one of the bigger names of Slovenian football. They have only taken the 1 title and that was in 2009. They have had limited success in Europe with 9 wins, 6 draws and 11 losses. They passed through the 1st round this year with a close 3-2 win over Vikingur (Ice) – Last year they beat Celik of Montenegro but lost next round to Neftchi (Azer) They have yet to play in the league yet this season. Hajduk are one of the names of Eastern Europe but have fallen on hard times of late. They have 9 old Yugoslav titles and 6 Croatian league (but none since 2005) They have massive experience in Europe with 175 games – with 73 wins, 35 draws and 67 losses. This year they brushed aside Sillimae Kalev (Estonia) 7-3. Last year they beat Dundalk (Ire) and Karagandy (Kaz) before a tight loss to Dnipro (Ukr)
Looks to be a mismatch here and I have no hesitation in taking Split. Although Koper will be fired up at home they are several levels below the visitors.
