Kuban Krasnodar v Feyenoord predictions and betting tips
This is the first leg of the Europa League between Kuban Krasnodar and Feyenoord. Kuban are hosting Feyenoord in the first leg, the second leg is played next week in Holland. The aggregate winner will advance to the group stage of Europa League.
Kuban finished fifth in the Russian Premier League last season, nine points behind second place Zenit Petersburg, and one point ahead of sixth place Rubin Kazan. This season they are expected to perform well, but they will be up against good teams so most likely they will be placed top half or around middle of table. They have played five matches so far and are placed ninth with the record 1 win, 3 draws, and 1 loss. The win came in the second match, last three matches have been two draws and one loss. But they met tough opposition in these matches, playing against the likes of Rubin Kazan, Zenit Petersburg, Spartak Moscow and CSKA Moscow. Kuban came in to the Europa League last round in the third qualifying round, where they beat Scottish Motherwell 3-0 on aggregate. Krasnodar will miss regular Vladislav Ignatyev.
Feyenoord finished third in the Dutch Eresdivisie last season, only losing the second place CLQ spot to PSV on goal difference, and five points ahead of fourth place Vitesse. They are expected to be in the top of the league this season also, but they look weakened compared to last season and will have a hard time repeating the result of a third place. Three matches into this season they are showing poor form after losing all three matches, although to be fair two of the matches were against tough opposition: Twente (favourite to finish third) and Ajax (favourite to win the league).

Kuban is one of the oldest Russian teams, but their best domestic result came last season when they finished in fifth place. This is the first time they participate in the Europa League and they do not have any stats against Dutch teams from before.
Feyenoord have a long tradition in European cups, although they have not participated regularly the last seasons. Last two seasons they participated were in 2010-11 when they reached play-off, and 2008-09 when they reached the group stage.
