LIVERPOOL V ANZHI MAKHACHKALA PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS
Liverpool again have made a disappointing start to the EPL season and sit in 12th place with 9 points from 8 matches. They have found some form recently with 2 wins in their last 3 matches but still need to improve heavily if they are to get anywhere near their goal of finishing in a European place this season. In the Europa League they have had two wild matches, a 5-3 win at Young Boys then a 3-2 home loss against Udinese. This competition certainly isn’t Liverpool’s focus this season and they won’t be too worried about results.
Anzhi has made a great start to the Russian Premier League and are top after 12 matches with 29 points. They have won 7 league matches in a row and are one of the most inform teams in Europe. In the Europa League they are also in strong form with a draw against Udinese in gameweek 1 followed be a 2-0 win against Young Boys. They are looking like favourites to progress from the group now along with Udinese.
TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY
Liverpool are in a difficult position this season, their indiscipline in the transfer market over the past few seasons meant their owners were reluctant to release more funds this summer which has left them very short of options, especially in attack. If Luis Suarez was to get injured long term then they would be looking at a bottom half finish in the Premier League which is nowhere near good enough for a team of their stature. The positive of this situation though is that youth has been given a chance and is showing some excellent quality. Raheem Sterling has been Liverpool’s standout player over the past month and is showing amazing talent for a 17 year old, and on the other wing 18 year old Suso has also become a fixture.
Anzhi have continued to throw huge amounts of money at players to convince them to join the Russian revolution. They have spent well over €100m net in 2 seasons but it is paying off for them as they lead the Russian League and will be hoping to participate in the Champions League next season. Striker Samuel Eto’o is still their main attraction and his 7 goals in 11 league games shows he still has the scoring skills which have seen him win the Champions League when he was with Barcelona.
LIVERPOOL V ANZHI MAKHACHKALA PREDICTIONS: 1X2 BETTING
PREVIEW
This is a tight game with Liverpool just small favourites. This is more to do with the type of line-up they are likely to play rather than a question of their overall quality, so far they have rested their stars for these matches.
I think the value here will be in the away side Anzhi who will be looking to make a splash against such a big name European opponent. A win here could signal a change in power between the traditional top leagues and the new billionaire owners of clubs from Russia and Ukraine.
Coral are offering a nice 3.25 on an Anzhi win which I’ll be backing soon as I think the price will drop.
LIVERPOOL - ANZHI MAKHACHKALA PREDICTIONS: ASIAN HANDICAP PREVIEW
The Asian Market doesn’t see much between the teams with Liverpool having the smallest possible handicap of -0.25.
I again think the value here is with the away side however and you can back Anzhi +0.25 at 1.89 with BetVictor. This means a draw would win half the bet with half returned and an Anzhi win would win the full bet.
Click here to visit BetVictor to back Anzhi +0.25.
LIVERPOOL - ANZHI MAKHACHKALA PREDICTIONS: TOTAL GOALS PREVIEW
As I noted previously Liverpool have had wild matches in the Europa League so far with their much changed line-ups. Their two matches have had a total of 13 goals, while Anzhi have been more reserved with just 2 goals per match.
I think the value here is with the Under which is a very favourable 2.05 with SportingBet. This price seems off to me so I would pick it up before it reduces under evens like most books.
