NEWCASTLE – BORDEAUX PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS

Bordeaux are 5^th in Ligue 1 with 13 points after 7 matches. They are undefeated this season in all competitions but have drawn too many league matches, including 4 in a row before their latest match, an excellent 2-0 win away at Lyon. Their first Europa league match was a strong 4-0 home win against Club Brugge.

TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

Newcastle are again expected to play a weakened side in this match as they concentrate their efforts on their EPL match at home to Manchester United at the weekend. This should give some other members of the squad a chance at some first team action, including Haris Vuckic, Dan Gosling and Shola Ameobi.

Bordeaux seems to be taking the competition more seriously and played a near full strength side last time out. They will be relying on stars like Gouffran, Diabate and Sane to be able to cope with two matches a wek and give them the chance of a European trophy.
