Rijeka v Stuttgart predictions and betting tips

Rijeka has opened well in Croatia with 11 points in the first five matches. In Europa League qualification so far they’ve knocked out Prestatyn Town and a decent Zilina side. Rijeka has also strengthened their first eleven considerably this transfer window and looks like a solid side to me. They also have a striker in form in Benko. He's scored 8 goals in 10 competitive matches for Rijeka so far this season. Three of these goals came in the Europa League Qualifiers.

Stuttgart has a very capable squad, and some really good players up front that can win matches for them. They reached the Final of last year’s German Cup but lost to Bayern Munich. They were also in the group stages of the Europa League doing pretty ok as they progressed to the knock out stages. They beat Genk, but had to resign to a very good Lazio side in the 8^th Finals. In qualification this year they have knocked out Botev Plovdiv of Bulgaria. In the Bundesliga so far they have lost two out of two, not the best of starts in other words.

In my opinion Stuttgart is made too big of a favorite here. Sure; Stuttgart has to be favorites over two legs, and they play in one of the best leagues of Europe, but Rijeka is a very solid (and improved) side in a relatively competitive league too.

Stuttgart hasn’t gotten off to the best of starts, and might spare a handful of their best players. In short: I really fancy Rijeka. Stuttgart is however a decent cup side so I will not go for the 1x2 here. My betting tip is Rijeka +0.5 with Bet365. The price is 1.775 (77/100).
