SALZBURG – ELFSBORG:PREDICTIONS

Salzburg have effortlessly moved to the top of the Austria Bundesliga. With a record of 5 wins and 3 draws with no defeats as yet. With a goal difference of +17 they look well on their way to another title.  In Europe its not been all plain sailing though, In Champions League they were paired with Fenerbahce and went out 4-2 on aggregate to miss out again on Group stages. That Fenerbahce were then thrown out of the competition after the next round with Arsenal makes it even worse. In Europa League Salzburg eased past Zalgiris of Lithuania 7-0 on aggregate.  Key men for the Austrians are strikers Jonathon Soriano with 11 from 10 games, Alan and attacking midfielder Kevin Kampl.

Elfsborg had a tough few months and had a long spell without a win. In the league recently they have picked up a bit and now sit in 5^th just 8 points behind leaders Malmo. Elfsborg have played a fair few games in Europe already this season; An 11-1 trouncing of Daugava was followed by narrow 1-0 loss to Celtic which saw them drop down to Europa League. Elfsborg edged past Danish Champions Nordsjaelland 2-1 in a tight contest.

Salzburg are way ahead of Elfsborg in quality and should have few problems in this tie. With exciting attacking options and  good strength in depth Salzburg should breeze through this game.
