Slovan Liberec took a surprising 3-1 win in Italy when Udinese hosted the first leg of this Europa League Qualifier. The Czech side was modestly talking lucky. Udinese hit the woodwork three times. Liberec was clinical when it came to finishing as they only needed four shots on goal to score three. This weekend they beat Bohemians and has now won five competitive matches in a row. They head into this Europa Cup tie full of confidence. Edit: Slovan Liberec has regular defender Ondrej Kusnir sitting out.
Udinese lost 2-1 away to Lazio in the weekend. As there is no domestic football this upcoming weekend they are likely to play several of their first string players like they did in the first leg. However, coach Guidolin must have given this up. Surely he must rue all the missed opportunities in the first leg as he knows going to Liberec will be tough as the Czechs are extremely good at countering.
