The Europa League group stage kicks off this Thursday and Standard Liege are hosting Esbjerg in this group C match. Standard Liege are the favourites to win this group, they are currently in great form in their domestic Belgium Pro League and have won all seven matches so far this season. In the Europa League qualification they beat KR 6-1 (Iceland) on aggregate, Xanthi (Greece) 4-2, and then in the play-off they beat FC Minsk from Belarus 5-1.

Esbjerg are together with Elfsborg the two teams that are least likely to advance from the group stage.
