STANDARD LIEGE – FC MINSK: PREDICTIONS

Standard Liege stand on the cusp of Group stage of Europa League after a solid 2-0 in Belarus.

Standard Liege has started really well in the PRO league. 5-0-0 and a goal difference of 10 with the side yet to concede a goal! With Geoffrey Mujangi Bia the standout player with 4 goals in the five games from midfield. They beat KR of Iceland 3-1 both home away before Greek Xanthi was beaten 2-1 both home and away. Standard Liege has 3-4 players in their squad competing at senior level internationally.  

FC Minsk has been in poor form this season. 6-6-9 domestically and winless in five league games is not a good stat. In the Europa Cup Qualification so far things have gone a little better. They have disposed of Valletta and St. Johnstone (on penalties). The squad is for most parts home grown, and contains no current Senior Internationals. They have a couple of promising youngsters though with minutes for the Belarus U21 side. Defender Alex Sverchinski is suspended for this game.
