SWANSEA – PETROLUL PLOIESTI PREDICTIONS AND BETTING TIPS

Swansea reached the hallowed grail of the English Premiership for the 1^st time in 2011. After a season of consolidation that season under Brendan Rogers they improved again last season under Michael Laudrup and picked up their 1^st major trophy in the England League Cup.  They opened up with a home match against the Champions Man Utd in an impossible fixture. Swansea battled hard but lost 4-1 due to some poor defending. In Europe League so far they destroyed Malmo 4-0 in Wales before ushering out the tie with a solid 0-0 in Sweden. Key midfielder Jonathon de Guzman is doubtful due to a head injury, no other worries for Swansea.

Petrolul Ploiesti have won 4 Romanian titles ,but none since the mid 1960’s. The side from Prahva County are led by Romanian legend Cosmin Contra. The team had a fantastic season last year winning Romanian Cup and finishing 3^rd in the league. They don’t have much experience in Europe with just 21 matches, Including 7 wins, 5 draws and 9 defeats. They had an easy 1^st tie with a 7 goal victory over Faroese opponents Vikingur. Next round they were expected to bow out to Netherlands Vitesse but the Romanians gained a fine 2-1 away and a comfortable 1-1 at home took them through.

These sides have never met at any level, I expect Swansea to attack from the off here. There is a possibility we will see a backup Swansea side but this will be one packed with quality. The likes of Wilfried Bony, Routledge and Ki will be decent at this level.

It’s an almost certain home win for Swansea whatever side they throw out. Judging by the Malmo eleven it will be very strong indeed. Swansea should win well here, Petrolul won through against Vitesse but they are not the side they were last season and the main reason was the loss of Wilfried Bony. The Ivorian hitman is more than likely going to start this game and I will be backing him to score anytime at a nice 2.05 with bet365. With goals on the cards for sure I am also taking Swansea -1.5 at 2.00 (bet365 again)
