Southampton dominated the Dutch in the 1st leg in St Marys and ran out 3 goal winners. For the 2nd leg Ronald Koeman has already stated they must look now to the opening Premiership game but at the same time they will not rest players here. Vitesse have stated they will give the game 100% as they seek to regain some pride back. Saints will not play Jordie Clasie as he has a hamstring tweak. Neither side has played a league game yet and the 1st leg was the initial game in European competition too.
Although Southampton have stated they will play a top side here I don’t think they will nessisarliy be killing themselves during the match. With an opening winnable Prem game against Newcastle they will not be 100% commited here. Vitesse will seek to gain some sort of redemption and I think they can.
