GHANA U20 – CHILE U20: PREDICTIONS

After the group stages two nations you would not have expected to be contesting for a place in the FIFA under 20 World Cup would be going head to head. Ghana and Chile come together in a quarter final match.

Ghana u20 took the 1^st knockout stage game to Portugal and exposed their soft underbelly time after time. Portugal are a very strong attacking team and did cause damage of their own but Ghana kept on attacking and eventually took the game 3-2. In the group stages Ghana were given an impossible job and were paired with France and Spain and duly lost both matches. Only a big margin win over USA would take them through, 4-1 was enough and they now have 2 wins and 2 defeats from 4 games. Goals has been a big feature in Ghana games so far with 15 goals in just 4 games.

Chile u20 finally came good against a strong Croatia side in the 1^st knockout stage. Chile were average through the group stages but did come into the competition with outside chances. In an easy group Chile struggled in three matches and only just sneaked into the knockout stages. However they improved out of sight in the Croatia match and look a decent outside bet to progress. With 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat so far they must not be judged on their group performances.
