GREECE U20 – PARAGUAY U20: PREDICTIONS

The Fifa U20 World Cup continues with the 3^nd round of games in Group D . Both sides sit joint level at the top of this group with 4 points after a win and a draw each. There are suspicions that both teams may settle for a draw here and certain qualification and it looks a great bet already.

Greece u20 staged a very typical smash and grab win in the opening game as they battled gamely for 90 minutes against a superior Mexico. The Central Americans dominated possession and territory for almost the entire game but were poor in finishing positions. Greece soaked up all the pressure and knocked in two late goals to seal the points. Second match saw the Greeks share possession and play with Mali which in truth was a dire game in which neither team really chanced their arm. Greece are very likely to take the same stance in the last game as both sides are almost certainly through already.

Paraguay u20 had a poor opening game with Mali in which both sides were guilty of sloppy play. Neither side were willing to commit to attacks after 10 minutes in which the score was 1-1. Both teams seemed content to take that score and very little happened in the following 80 minutes. Second match saw a Mexico side who were strongly fancied in many quarters again fail to deliver. Paraguay were solid in defence and midfield and gave no inch to the Mexicans who in truth were poor. Paraguay go into the final game unbeaten and look good for a knockout place.
