BRAZIL - ENGLAND PREDICTIONS

Brazil take on England for the second time this year as part of the 150^th anniversary of England FA. Brazil will want to put on a show at their famous Maracana stadium which has just finished a refurbishment.

Brazil prepare for their upcoming Confederations cup with a 2^nd match against England. Brazil are in a transitional period at the moment as Felipe Scolari tries a few different players in his search for the correct blend. With Brazil hosting the 2014 World Cup they have a huge disadvantage in a lack of meaningless and uncompetitive friendlies. Brazil have travelled far and wide playing low key training matches. Since the start of 2012 their record reads 10 wins, 4 draws and 4 defeats. Goals have flowed with 48 scored and 20 conceded for an amazing goals average of 3.78 per game. Scolari sprung a few suprises for this squad with in from Ronaldinho getting the axe alongside Kaka.  Ramires gets the chop for his reluctance to join the squad for the Russia match.  Another big name to miss out is Alex Pato, with Scolari instead going for Neymar, Leandro Damiao. Hulk and Fred upfront and trying out Mineiro’s new wunderkind Bernard. Surprisingly Brazil get to select Dante and Luis Gustavo of Bayern Munich who do have a German Cup final to contest.  International rules govern that the duo are made available for selection.

England go into the friendly in mixed form and also with a serious chance of missing out on another World Cup. In a group with Ukraine, Poland and Montenegro the English are making hard work of it. England sit in 2^nd place in the group 2 points behind surprise leaders Montenegro but only 4 points ahead of Poland and Ukraine who both have a game in hand. Since the defeat to Italy on penalties in Euro 2012 England have won 4, drawn 4 and lost once. This run is including a friendly 2-1 win over Brazil. They have scored 26 goals and conceded 9 but with 18 coming against whipping boys Moldova and San Marino results have not been great for England at all.  As expected after the season has finished, England suffer a handful of withdrawals from the squad. Daniel Sturridge joins Steven Gerrard, Andy Carrol, Jack Wilshire and Tom Cleverly who all withdraw before the tepid 1-1 home draw with Republic of Ireland. Danny Welbeck and Jermaine Defoe are injury doubts so Theo Walcott may partner Wayne Rooney in attack.

BRAZIL – ENGLAND: BETTING TIPS

This should be a straight forward win for Brazil in a match that on paper may seem balanced. Do not be fooled by the FIFA rankings either as they see Brazil in 19^th! 12 places behind England. This is pure nonsense and the price of Brazil is a decent one. England showed their lack of ability in the drab 1-1 home draw with a desperate Ireland side. No craft or invention and very little to show for all the supposed world class players. Brazil will tear England apart here and I can see goals for sure for the home side.  I am taking Brazil -1 at 1.91 with Bet365. The home side are shortening all the time and every can see these sides are a class apart. England have a chance of scoring here for sure and if Walcott plays especially the suspect Brazilian back line may suffer with his direct running.  For Brazil the likes of Hulk and Neymar will have a field day against the English.
