Ecuador v Spain predictions and betting tips
Ecuador goes into this International Friendly winless in their last three matches. Here they will field a side pretty much identical to their world cup qualifying match against Argentina in June. They will however miss their biggest star: Antonio Valencia of Manchester United.
At home Ecuador is usually very solid. After all they have won eight of their last ten. In that interval they met fairly easy opposition overall, but beating Colombia 1-0 was solid. It must be said they lost 2-5 to Germany in late May. The aforementioned match against Argentina ended 1-1.
Spain is still a power house in great shape, but after being thoroughly beaten 3-0 by Brazil in the Confederations Cup final surely some doubt has crept into the back of their minds. At least it looks like that as Coach Del Bosque has left out the likes of Xavi, Mata, Pique, Torres, Busquets and the ageing Alonso. Fabregas is injured and will sit out too. In comes youth in the form of: Isco, Koke, Thiago, Azpilicueta, Tello and Inigo Martinez. Highly rated and super skillful players all of them!
Ecuador - Spain betting tips
I definitely think it is a good thing youth gets a chance by Del Bosque. The Spanish U21 generation was amazing this summer and they are odds on to continue their development by being given time with the Senior team. Not only that: They will add hunger to this side again. Look out for a ruthless Spanish side really wanting the win here!
Equador will have big problems getting hold of the ball, and although South American internationals have a very high base level of football I doubt they’ll be able to do much with it when they have it against this side. Spain will be all over them.
My betting tips will be Spain on the 1x2 priced at 1.65 (13/20). I was considering -1 on the Asian handicap coupon at 2.2 (6/5) but I think it’s better to let this more youthful side perform first, analyze the outcome and perhaps look at the Asian handicap next time around.
