Unusual international friendly in Budapest as we get Hungary hosting Ivory Coast.  The Ivory Coast arrive in Europe with a good recent record with 5 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss in recent games. They are without Aurier, Gervinho and Yaya Toure. His brother Kolo has been included in the squad but will not take any part after a long stint in Liverpool’s 3-1 loss to Sevilla on Thursday. Ivory Coast are ranked 34 in the World by FIFA with 734 points and are placed 2^nd best in Africa. Hungary have made a finals tournament for the 1^st time since 1986. They will line up with Austria, Iceland and Portugal in what could be a killer group. For this game they are are without a few players in Adam Bogdan, Kristian Nemeth and Akos Elek.  They have an inflated FIFA ranking of 18 which places them above the likes of France and Croatia and no way are they better than those sides. They hold a near 200 point gap over Ivory Coast which is a lot but for me isn’t a true reflection of the gap in the two sides.

Both sides are missing key men for this one and the game means little in reality.  Last 10 games for Hungary have seen 5 wins, 4 draws and 1 loss.  They are in decent form and will be looking to blood a few younger players. Ivory Coast will like to use a few fringe members as they have an important CAF qualifier coming up against Gabon in a few weeks. I take a tight game and a draw is best option.
