ISRAEL - FINLAND : PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Israel had a poor 2012 by their standards, the only competitive qualifier they had they were blown away 4-0 at home to Russia. Israel are usually such a difficult team to take on home soil but here their limitations were shown. They sit in 2nd place at the moment in World Qualifying group F. With 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss. However the two wins were against perenial whipping boys Luxembourg, aside from the loss to Russia the Israeli's were also held by a struggling Azerbaijan. Truly a poor start to qualifying. With Portugal still to play home and away and a trip to Russia to come qualification looks to have gone already. In 2012 international friendlies Israel played 5 times, they only managed 1 draw and lost the remaining 4 games. The Israeli squad is a fairly inexperienced lot, only Tal Ben Haim has more than 50 caps, this side does have some promise though with Mallorca striker Tomer Hemed the pick of the bunch.

Finland were given an impossible task from the off after they were drawn with France and Spain. The Finnish do have some good young players however and it will be interesting to see how they shape up. They only managed two competitive fixtures last year and drew one and lost one.They lost a tight home encounter against France, a game in which they were more than a match for their illustrious visitors. Most recent result was a 1-1 home draw with a much improved Georgia. A result which doesn't look great but the Georgians are looking a very dangerous outfit. Friendlies from last year saw Finland play 11 matches. They managed 6 wins, 3 draws and 2 losses. Teams beaten last year where among other Turkey, Estonia and Czech Republic. Teams to have bested Finland are Sweden and Austria. Finland have a fine mixture of youth and experiance and are capable of producing solid football.

Finland are tipped up here to cause and upset at 4.00. The odds are on the move and some bookmakers have shortened the away side in what is the correct move. Israel are not the team they were over the last decade. No longer solid at home they lack experience and look like a team in decline. Finland conversely are a solid all round team capable of decent football. Good value on the away side here and Paddy Power should be made to pay.
