JAPAN v NEW ZEALAND: 1x2 BETTING TIPS AND PREDICTIONS
Japan go into this game in good form and are aiming high in the upcoming World Cup. Japan finished top of their WC qualifiying group with 5 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat. Coach Alberto Zaccharoni has his team in good shape and he will aim for a morale boosting win here. He has a few men missing though with Atsuto Uchida and captain Makato Hasebe out. Overall 2013 form reads 8 wins, 3 draws and 8 defeats but Japan played an entire run of games against the top sides. Including Italy, Brazil and Mexico in Confed Cup. New Zealand play their first fixture with new coach Neil Emblen. Long time manager Rickie Herbert left his tenure after the embarrassing 2 legged World Cup playoff defeat to Mexico. NZ were hammered home and away and went out on aggregate 9-3; A major problem for them is the lack if meaningful competition in their own confederation. Then main reason Australia decided to leave. New Zealand are ranked 89th in the world and that puts them alongside China and Northern Ireland which is about right. They are fielding and inexperienced side here and are without several key men for this fixture with Marco Rojas, Tom Smith and Winston Reid out. Results in 2013 were 3 wins, 1 draw and 3 defeats but the level of opposition in the wins was very low with Caledonia and Solomon Islands there.
The odds are very short indeed here but if you want a real boost to your return it’s a very low risk on the Win to Nil market. New Zealand are 40 places or so below Japan on the FIFA team rankings and they more than likely would not have made it through to the final stages of World Cup qualifying if NZ were in the Asia bracket. I cant see anything other than a home win here and don’t even see how the Kiwis can score. Win to nil looks a no brainer bet. Odds are as short as 1.50 (1/2) with some books too.
Back Japan to win to nil at 1.67 (4/6) with bet365.
