REP IRELAND V LATVIA: PREDICTIONS AND BETTING TIPS total goals
The first game of the new Ireland regime of Martin O’Neill and Roy Keane, and it should be a straightforward victory. The Republic finished a disappointing fourth in their group with a (4-2-4) record, and have skidded down to 60 in the FIFA rankings. The fiery and talented management duo have plenty of English Premiership quality within the squad, and a turnaround in fortunes can be expected over the coming year. Latvia ended a lowly fifth in their group with a (2-2-6) record, and a ranking of 117 accurately reflects their limits. Latvia haven’t enjoyed an away victory in over two years, and the limited squad should not trouble Ireland. Clark and Brady have withdrawn from Irelands squad with illness and injury. The Irish have won all four meetings of the nations, including twice at home.
