SLOVENIA – CANADA: BETTING TIPS AND PREDICTIONS

Slovenia are struggling to reach the heights of recent years and have dropped little in the European order. They were placed in a very tough and even group but finished 3^rd, just 2 points off a playoff place. Five wins and five defeats was too erractic and cost them in the end. This year has seen them only play three friendlies, winning 1 and losing 2. Indeed drawing is something Slovenia do as you have to go back to May 2012 for their last draw! A run of 15 games of winning and losing. Legendary coach Srecko Katanec returns to the helm and will boost the side for sure. Canada were eliminated in their continental qualifiers in October 2012 such is the convoluted nature of CONCACAF. Going into a final day eliminator with Honduras hopes were high as the winner would take the spot, a draw would be good enough for the Canadians. No-one outside of Honduras would have guessed what was to happen. A ridiculous 8-1 win for the Hondurans as Canada seemingly fell apart under the pressure. That result sparked a huge turnaround in fortunes for the Canadians who amazingly have not won a single game since. In a run of 12 games against pretty low ranked sides (including Mauritania  twice, Martinique and Belarus) Canada have lost 9 and drawn 3. In a run that has seen them score just 1 goal and concede 18. Indeed Canada have not scored in 9 games in a run that goes back to March!

With Canada’s seeming inability to score the win to nil is a viable alternative to the straight up win and offers a high price.  Canada have not scored in 9 and lost 7 of those games too, opposition is a lot lower quality that Slovenia also. Four of the last five wins for Slovenia have been to nil and against teams of the quality of Turkey and Norway.
