Friday sees the European Super cup staged this year in the Eden Arena Prague. Both teams have made solid starts to the domestic campaigns, Bayern winning their opening 3 games and drawing at Freiburg.Chelsea 2 home wins and a solid scoreless draw at Old Trafford.The last time the 2 teams met was in the 2012 Champions League Final when Chelsea came out winners on penalties after an ultra defensive display.Prior to that the 2005 quarter final match up in the Champions league saw a thrilling 6-5 aggregate win for Chelsea.

Bayern Munich have been rocked with news of the loss of summer signing Thiago Alcantara being out for up to 2 months after limping off against Nurenberg last weekend. Bastien Schweinsteiger is a huge doubt after hobbling off in the Freiburg draw while Javi Martinez is missing.
Guardiolas reign at Bayern Munchen should see a continuation of the attractive free flowing football and not many teams will be able to compete with them, never mind beat them.
Chelsea may again be without David Luiz who has yet to figure this season due to a hamstring problem.Mourinhos return to Chelsea will mean they are hard to beat as proven against Manchester United on Monday, but they offered little offensively and started the match with no recognised striker. A main striker has to be a priority signing before deadline day but that wont come in time for this match.
The match sets up an intriguing match up for old foes Guardiola and Mourinho from their El Classico battles, but Bayern Munich look to be far too strong in all departments for Chelsea to consider anything but a Bayern victory.

The only possible bets for this game are for a Bayern win. Probably a narrow one though as Mourinho will ensure his Chelsea team are set up to defend well. Odds for a Bayern victory are a reasonable 1.83 with Corals.
Mourinho will probably go for a repeat of the tactics in the Man Utd 0-0 draw. He knows it will be tough to outplay this Bayern side even if they are going through a phase of change under Pep Guardiola.
