This is a World Cup David v Goliath set up indeed! To be honest it is one of the easiest betting predictions I've ever written.

The Netherlands crushed reigning champions Spain 5-1 in their opener. Spain controlled much of the first half, and just before half time they could have made it two nil, instead Robin van Persie scored a spectacular goal on the counter. In the second half the Dutch never looked back. They wanted the win more and they got it.

Australia was outplayed for well over 30 minutes against Chile. The Chileans scored twice within 14 minutes and looked threatening every single time they ventured forward. However a looping header by Tim Cahill turned the game upside down. After the goal Australia were in the match. Both sides created a couple of good scoring opportunities in the second half, but it was Chile who made it count. Australia will take many positives from this game going into this tie.

Team News

Australia will have to do without right back Ivan Franjic. He delivered the assist for Tim Cahill in the Chile game and was overall relatively decent in that game. It is a problem definitely for Aussie boss Postecoglou as there isn't a likes for likes right back replacement in the squad. In other words; it is tinker time.

Run of play

Against Spain the Netherlands could focus on executing counter attacks. Here they will see much more of the ball. Probably somewhere around 65% like Chile did against the Socceroos. They will try to play van Persie and Robben in. Sneijder is the man likely to send off the assist, so he needs to be on his toes if Holland is to be successful. Danny Blind had a terrific game against Spain, and if he can keep on delivering top shelf crosses Holland will have more than enough offensive options.

Australia has to defend deep here. There is too much attacking flair in Holland. Chile had Vargas, Sanchez and Valdivia doing the damage. Van Persie, Robben and Sneijder is however at least one notch trickier. At the same time, Cahill is a magnet for crosses. He also gets himself in position time and time again. I do absolutely not rule out him scoring here. The Dutch central defense is definitely something he can handle.

Betting Predictions for 1x2

Even if Australia has goal threat in Cahill they do not bring enough to this world cup party. End of story! Chile cut through the Aussie defense so many times, and I do not see Holland doing any worse. Especially with the momentum they got now.
