BOSNIA v IRAN: GAMES SO FAR

Bosnia are on the plane home already after a pair of losses ended their debut World Cup. The loss to Argentina was fair enough but in truth in that game they played well and were only undone by some Messi magic. Second game was against Nigeria and I expected them to take something from that game. Only some terrible refereeing and some brilliance from Nigeria keeper Enyeama kept them at bay. Iran drew 1^st match with Nigeria in what was a stolid defence performace. Second match they were expected to fall apart to Argentina but for 90 minutes they held back the South Americans and even threatened a few times. But for a sublime bit of skill from Messi in injury time they would have taken a priceless point.

MATCH ANALYSIS

The match has moved up in price dramatically as Bosnia leave the tournament. Iran need a win for any chance of qualification and for me I don’t think they will get it. They will still hold a tight line but they need to win here. Bosnia will be hugely disappointed to bow out but they will try and salvage some pride here. I think the change of tactics for Iran will ultimately be their undoing.
