Luka Modric got three yellow cards in eleven qualification matches for Croatia so 2.90 from Unibet doesn't stand out on that basis.
In general Modric is a great deep lying playmaker/central midfielder who also have great defensive qualities. He is excellent with the ball at his feet, but he can also be quite a terrier. When he chase a player he never gives up! He will not give any opponent much time on the ball either. Great qualities for a midfielder! However, when you factor in:
1. That it is rather likely to be more defensive minded in this game than normally because his back four will require more protection than usual when meeting arguably the best National side on the planet on their home soil and;
2. That he will be up against an extremely technical opposing side, and;
3. As the game wears on he will face fresh legs from the Brazil bench giving his tired self problems (and it is unlikely he will be taken off unless he gets injured)
I think we found ourselves some value! Croatia will focus on defending and Modric will be an important piece in that puzzle. For me, this puzzle easily involves a yellow card. Great price! Worth a go!
