The case for Over 2.5 goals

Croatia will be putting many men behind the ball and try to make scoring as difficult as possible for the home side. I also think midfield maestros Raktic and Modric, players who could create a lot offensively for Croatia will be asked to put in a defensive shift here. The result of that is obviously that they lose out in attack. 

As you may have guessed by now, the goals will have to come from Brazil if this bet is to be a winner. My thinking here is that they will have gotten a wake up call from the Sao Paulo friendly against Serbia here the other day. They won 1-0, created much, but also showed some weakness in defense. Also, do not put too much weight on a friendly. The player turnover was very high within the 90 minutes of football, and you can be sure none of the Brazilian players wanted to risk as much as a toe nail in 50-50 situations. Of course none of them would want to miss this World Cup.

I do not really rate the Croatian defense either. Lovren is a star in the making, but other than that the back four is rather ordinary compared to the attacking force they are up against here. Brazil has flair, pace and power in their arsenal, and they'll be bringing the whole range of tools out of the tool box here.

Is it enough to go over 2.5 goals? At 2.00 at BET365 I am saying yes. I think it is more likely than not so this is value for me.
