COLOMBIA V IVORY COAST: PREDICTIONS AND BETTING TIPS

Colombia impressed in the main in their opening 3-0 win over Greece, but there were slight grounds for concern at the back for when they meet the better sides. An early goal made things comfortable for the Colombians, whose forward play was a joy to watch at times. Juan Cuadrado impressed alongside the much vaunted James Rodriguez, who did not let us down. Teofilo Gutierrez vindicated his selection as the lone striker, grabbing the all important second goal, and all in all Colombia showed that they can be a force in the later stages of this World Cup. Freddy Guarin (mid) is available again after being suspended for the Greek game, but squad striker Carlos Bacca will miss the remainder of the tournament.

Ivory Coast deservedly came from behind to beat Japan 2-1 with Serge Aurier providing two perfect crosses for first Bony and a couple of minutes later Gervinho to turn the game around. With comfortably more possession and shooting opportunities it was a pleasing performance from the Ivory Coast, though as feared the defence is most definitely a cause for concern going into the game against Colombia. Interestingly both Ivory goals came after the introduction of Drogba, and it would be no surprise if he started against Colombia.Squad striker Ya Konan is out injured.

RUN OF PLAY:

After watching the first group games this could provide a real spectacle for viewers, with both sides looking very offensive minded. Colombia look very slick in their passing and movement, but will need to stay more switched on against Ivory Coast than they did versus Greece at times or could be punished. The Ivory Coast defence is a massive concern against this talented Colombia wave of offense, but they do have enough class going forward themselves to present a real threat to a not totally convincing Colombia defence. It all points to an entertaining game with goals very much on the cards.
