The odds here don’t make any sense given what we have seen so far. Costa Rica have actually been one of the few sides to pay well in both opening games as teams across the tournament fight for consistency. They have a rigid game plan based around organisation, belief and no little skill. They have beaten two decent sides in Uruguay and Italy and fully deserve to make the knockout stages. England for all their supposed ‘world class’ players have been average. They attacked Italy in periods but still lost and they were very poor against Uruguay. I expect a few changes for England and they may attack more as they have nothing to lose. But this will just play into the hands of Costa Rica who need this type of play to execute their own game plan.
