NIGERIA v ARGENTINA: GAMES SO FAR

Nigeria have performed well so far and for me better than expected! They were held by Iran to a 0-0 draw which surprised as well but set the platform for the next game. They were outsiders to a strong Bosnia side but that’s to some class keeping from Enyeama they kept a clean sheet and won the game thanks to an Odemwingie strike. Nigeria are organized, athletic and dangerous on the break but they are a bit open defensively. That may seem strange considering they are the only side left yet to concede but they do allow chances. Argentina have been pretty underwhelming so far but they have 2 wins from 2 games. When teams win playing badly that always interests me as they are obviously capable of so much more. A 2-1 win over Bosnia only sprung into life after some Messi magic. The Iran game was edging towards an unbelievable 0-0 draw when you guessed it Messi produced another sublime moment. Iran caused the static Argentina backline problems. Something Nigeria will look to exploit.

MATCH ANALYSIS

Argentina are through to the knockout stages already and confirmed group winners with a draw here and that would take Nigeria through too. The Africans are in a difficult situation here as if Iran fail to win in the other game they go through also! It’s a problem for them but they must simply play their own game. I am slighty worried for Argentina who did look very pedestrian for most of their two games. I think Nigeria can cause problems here.

BETTING TIPS 1X2

I am opposing Argentina, I think not only can they rest players but they have not looked at their best at all even with their 1^st eleven. Nigeria will be very cautious as they don’t want to give the game away. For sure they as good an offence as Bosnia and a much better one than Iran and those two gave the Argentina backline problems. Messi is always there of course and we know what he can do. Its just he has been a lone attacking threat with Aguero, Higauin and plenty of others anonymous.
