 ITALY V BULGARIA : PREDICTIONS AND BETTING TIPS

The two unbeaten sides in Group B do battle here where a win for the home side will go a long way to virtually ensuring qualification to next years World cup in Brazil. Italy are ranked 6 in FIFA rankings while Bulgaria are currently 53.  Italy really impressed during the 2012 Euros reaching the final and are currently fifth favourites to lift next years World crown. Italy have won both qualifiers on home soil and have came out on top in the three previous home meetings against Bulgaria with 2-0 twice and a 2-1 scoreline. Andrea Pirlo continues to be the main man in midfield, even at the age of 34. Balotteli, Osvaldo and Montolivo all miss the game suspended for Italy .

Bulgaria have fared well so far with two wins and four draws in the group, but the trip to Italy is their biggest task so far. Strong performances in draws at Denmark and Czech republic give reason for hope though a tame friendly defeat in Macedonia last time tempers confidence. Aston Villas Aleksander Tonev is an exciting player to watch, who takes free kicks and is willing to shoot from range .He is likely to play up front with captain Ivelin Popov in behind.

Italy should win this but a tough game is expected and quotes of 1.40 for a home win offer little appeal. I expect Bulgaria to put up a defensive display, and goals could be low.
