Italy v Czech Republic predictions & betting tips

Italy beat Bulgaria 1-0 on Friday. As usual the Italians didn’t burn one calorie more than they have to, but we all know the potential that lives within this side. Now they’re as good as sure winners of their Group as they are seven points ahead of Bulgaria in second place with three matches to go. Pasqual and De Silvestri are available for selection again. Antonelli, Abate and De Sciglio are injured. Young Insigne is a doubt. However the Italian squad has so much depth I do not really see any issues here with these players out.

Italy deserves to be clear favorites here.

Czech Republic lost 2-1 at home against Armenia on Friday but still has a chance to go to Brazil. They have nine points after seven matches. That’s the same point score as Armenia, and one point behind Bulgaria. I think the Czechs will be extremely defensive in this game and hope for a handful of breaks all game. This is one of those games they really don’t want to lose. A point for them here is golden!

I doubt the Czechs feel comfy attacking the Italians at their own playground. They’ll stay compact, and on their day they’re very tough to break down. They’ll probably only spring to life late in the game if Italy should be in the lead by then.  Italy could easily settle for a point here. They don’t need to take any chances. Why should they? If the Czechs go 1-0 or even 2-0 up the Italians will probably give it a go though, and with their team sheet there is enough quality to keep hold of a point.  The draw at 3.00 (2/1) with Bet365 is pretty in my eyes due to this setting.
