Montenegro v Ukraine predictions

Montenegro  are top of group H in the European World Cup Qualification with 4-2-0 (14-3) so far. Ukraine is fourth in the group with 2-2-1 (6-4). When the sides met in the reverse fixture Montenegro won 1-0. That was a game Montonegro was closer to winning 2-0 than Ukraine was getting a draw.

Ukraine has a squad of Ukraininan based players surrounding team captain Anatoliy Tymoshchuk who just recently transferred from Bayern Munich to Zenit. I'd say they're quite ordinary looking. Here defenders Kucher (Shakthar Donetsk) and fringe player Mandzyuk (Dnipro) as well as striker Marko Devic (Metalist) will sit out.

Ukraine can play well with the ball at their feet, they defend OK, and they got some dynamism. Here they're up against some pretty good players in Marko Baša (Lille), Stefan Savić (Fiorentina), Stevan Jovetić (Fiorentina) and Mirko Vučinić (Juventus). The rest of the side is pehaps not so known, and one can always set a question mark to the quality of the Montenegro central midfield. Here I doubt they'll have much problems coping though!

Montenegro should control posession, and I doubt Ukraine will be much of an offensive threat unless they get really lucky on the breaks. It will be down to how well the hosts convert on the night. For Ukraine; they got to continue staying compact, denying the offensive players of Montenegro any chance to run at their defenders.
