PARAGUAY - BOLIVIA: PREDICTIONS

Paraguay have had a desperate qualifying section and sit rock bottom with just 8 points from 12 games.   Scoring the least amount of goals while only perennial bottom dwellers Bolivia have conceded more.  Paraguay’s containing game worked wonders in previous tournements but other teams are wise to the play and have figured out a way to beat Paraguay. The team is ponderous, fractured and deserves nothing from the section. Just 2 wins, 2 draws and 8 defeats says its all. In Asuncion they are usually a very tough propostion but they have only managed 2 wins 1 draw and 2 defeats. If Paraguay throw a series of wins together they do have an outside chance of making the playoff. Three of their four remaining games are at home so there is a glimmer of hope. Form in 2013 is ok with 1 win 2 draws and 2 defeats.  Coach Victor Genes has drafted in a lot of young players in a bid to kick start the late surge. Christian Riveros is the main man for Paraguay and anything decent normally stems from him.

Bolivia usually occupy bottom spot  and they have improved a little over the last year or so. Still incredibly strong in the clouds in La Paz they can match any side at their own stronghold. However away from home they are generally dismal. This section has been no different with no wins, 1 draw and 5 defeats with a negative goal difference of -11.  The Bolivians don’t have the all round quality the other sides in South America have but they do tend to play a high tempo game with emphasis on counter attacking play. Marcelo Moreno is the best known of the Bolivians and is a top class striker.
