ROMANIA - HUNGARY: PREDICTIONS

Romania have been in the doldrums over the past few years, struggling to maintain the high standards the side made in the 90’s and early 2000’s. The current side is an inexperienced one with only a few major names. The side has very few top level players which is something Romanian sides of the past always had. with captain Razvan Rat coming to the end of his playing days. The second highest scorer in the squad Ciprian Marica does not even have a team showing how far things have fallen. Over the last year Romania have played 11 games and have 6 wins, 1 draw and 4 defeats. Goals have been plentiful in these games with 22 scored and 19 conceded for a massive game average of 3.72. Top scorers over the last year with 5 are Marica and midfielder Gabriel Torje.

Hungary have had a real turnaround of fortunes over the last 12months.  They are in 2^nd position in their World Cup qualifying group, ahead of teams such as Turkey and Romania. Over the last 12 months they have played 14 matches with 6 wins, 6 draws and 2 defeats.   This Hungary side are getting stronger and stronger but they do not contain many standout players, they are a decent rounded side. Top scorer in recent games is midfielder Balázs Dzsudzsák with five goals.

ROMANIA - HUNGARY: BETTING TIPS 

This game looks a very close game and its huge importance with runners up at stake only adds to tension. I think the sides are very evenly matched but Hungary for me have a slight edge here and as the away side will look to counter the Romanians. If Hungary can keep things tight the huge crowd will grow restless and for me a lay of Romania is the best bet. I take Hungary +0.5 at 2.05 with bet365.
