ROMANIA V TURKEY : PREDICTIONS AND BETTING TIPS
Both sides won at home on Friday to keep hopes alive of a play off place behind group leaders Holland. Romania an impressive 3-0 win to leapfrog Hungary into second place, and Turkey 5-0 over minnows Andorra. Two comprehensive defeats to Holland aside, Romanias form has been good with home wins over Trinidad, Australia and Belgium in the last year. Romania have won all four previous meetings against Turkey on home soil, scoring eleven without conceding. Talisman Ciprian Marica scored and assisted in Fridays win over Hungary and his goals are vital to a mainly youngish squad.
Two wins over Andorra aside Turkey haven’t won in eight games against meaningful opposition and are nowhere near the side who reached the semi finals of Euro 2008.The squad is made up mainly of players in the Turkish league with only Toprak, Turan, Sahin, Calhanogin and Erdinc playing in the major European leagues.
