VENEZUELA V COLUMBIA PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Both sides are very much in the hunt for an automatic place in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil with their performances in qualifying so far.  It’s not over yet though and every point is important in a very close race for qualification.

Venezuela are 5^th in the table, currently in the playoff spot.  They have 12 points from 10 matches which leaves them 1 point behind the final automatic qualifying place held by Uruguay.  They also have two sides behind them within just 1 point so it’s vital they keep picking up points to stay in the hunt.

Columbia are 2^nd in the group with 19 points from 9 matches and are looking good to get automatic qualification.  They are 2^nd only to Argentina who are 4 points ahead but have played a game more, so the gap could drop to 1 point after this game.  With a 5 point gap over the teams chasing an automatic spot and a game in hand they are in a great position to get through.

Despite being the away side Columbia are favourites here.  A 5-0 win over Bolivia on Saturday showed the type of fomr they are in and they have goals throughout their team with 5 separate scorers.  Star striker Radamel Falcao picked up a goal as you’d expect and he will be hungry for more as he looks to keep up his excellent scoring run in the best season of his career so far.
