Venezuela remains the only South American side never to reach the World Cup but they have made leaps and bounds over the last couple of years. They finished in 6th last time out and only trailed playoff winners Uruguay by 5 points. Home form for them showed 4 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses. Games were very tight in Venezuela with just 8 scored and 7 conceded in the 9 games. Paraguay have gone with some younger blood for the upcoming qualifiers with none of the old guard selected. Roque Santa Cruz, Jorge Benitez, Raúl Bobadilla, and Cristian Riveros have all been left out. Venezuela are at full strength in what should be a dour, goal shy match.
At best we will get a 1-0 for either side, at worst a 0-0 and nothing to write home about. Not am exciting bet but both teams to score No has real chances here.
