Venezuela v Uruguay preview

Venezuela has been decent in this qualification and are now in 5th which would give them a Qualification match for Brazil 2014. The side is playing traditional south american football. They're also very compact. Venezuela has also been good at home. 3-1-1 (4-3) are good stats. In March Colombia was beaten 1-0 here for instance. Their squad is a good mix of South American based players and some from European Leagues. Rondon (Rubin Kazan), Miku (Getafe) and Arango (Gladbach) are perhaps their biggest name players. For the home side Amorebieta (Defender) is not taking part. 

Uruguay has had a poor qualification. Actually in their last six qualification games they're now 0-2-4. Actually, their four latest away games have been lost by two or more goals. It doesn't take a degree in rocket science to say they are having issues in the defense.Here the troubled genius Luis Suarez is forced to sit out as well.  He is a big miss, but obviously with the likes of Cavani Uruguay is well set in attack anyway. Uruguay beat a reduced French side in a friendly recently after a goal by the mentioned Suarez.

Often a draw when these two have met in the past, even the reverse fixture in Uruguay ended 1-1.

Venezuela v Uruguay betting tips

One simply just can't back Uruguay away from home with their recent stats. Not against such a good home team as Venezuela. I rate the home side as favorites, but don't think 2.70 (17/10) is a good price given the setting here. I much rather back Venezuela, drawn no bet at BET365 at 2.00 (1/1). The cushion of the draw helps out a lot. Venezuela will stay compact and deny the likes of Cavani, Forlan, Gargano and Ramirez space.
