Ireland have scored 9 goals in their last ten matches and conceded 11 while Germany have scored 18 in ten and conceded 14.

Germany looked like the potential winners of Euro 2012 before losing to Italy in the semi-finals. Two goals from the enigmatic Mario Balotelli for Italy decided that match. Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez was joint top scorer despite not starting for one of the group games.
