AC Milan v Cagliari predictions & betting tips

AC Milan lost away to Verona on the first Serie A match day. Milan dominated early on and went up 1-0. They couldn’t stop the home side clawing their way back into the game, winning it, deservedly so in the process. In midweek they beat PSV Eindhoven 3-0 at the San Siro with a strong eleven as PSV took risks going forward. Abbiati was again on form for Milan as PSV missed some unbelievable chances. They’ve brought in Matri from Juventus recently. He could be given a chance already this weekend.

Personally, I think Milan will struggle to get a Champions League spot this year. Juventus and Napoli seem far out of their reach, and Fiorentina has improved a lot too.

Cagliari came from behind to win their Serie A opener 2-1 at home against Atalanta. Cagliari was in control, but Atalanta played a good match and created a lot a good few chances. To me Cagliari looks pretty much like the same side that ended 8^th last season.

AC Milan has won this fixture with two or more goals all three Serie A matches that have been played at the San Siro since and including 2011. Last season Milan won 2-0, but they didn’t impress me. Cagliari defended well even when playing with ten men for about half an hour.

AC Milan will meet a side here that will defend fiercely, much unlike PSV in midweek. They’ve played a lot of football also now in a short period of time. I can definitely see them dropping some points at home against sides like Cagliari as I have my doubts over the quality of the squad. Since it is early days in the Serie A I am not going to try something fancy on the 1x2 though, but Cagliari +1.5 at 1.70 (7/10) with Bet365 must be tested given my predictions so far.
