Both Fiorentina and Inter Milan are still fighting for European football next season. A Champions League spot is still within reach. Going into this tie Inter leads Fiorentina in the Serie A table by 4 points.

Chilean Matias Fernandez (Midfielder) is still out for Fiorentina. Midfielders Alberto Aquilani and Giulio Migliaccio are available for selection again after being suspended against Juventus. Mohamed Sissiko (Midfielder) could be given minutes in this tie. He has returned from the African Cup of Nations where he represented Mali. He’ll bring some much needed steel to this edition of Fiorentina should he start.
Diego Milito finally returned to action for Internazionale last weekend. However, in the midweek win over Cluj. He was however taken off after 10 minutes with a serious injury. He will face another spell on the sidelines. Fredy Guarin (Midfielder) was back, and took part in midweek and would be in contention again here. Zdravko Kuzmanović (Midfielder) that came in January has started three in a row for Inter, and he is likely to continue his run in the side. Mateo Kovacic, the young super talent got rave reviews after the Cluj game and feature again. Matias Schelotto (Midfield), another new signing coming from Atalanta could be in contention after being eased into the side. Walter Samuel (Defender) is still out. Gaby Mudingayi (Midfielder) is still out too.
Betting Predictions
I think both sides will improve their form stats over the next few weeks. Fiorentina has struggled a bit in the middle of the park with injuries and suspensions. Jovetic has also been off form. Now they have players back, and Sissoko will add much needed power to a relatively light weight midfield. Inter has added pure quality in January and coach Stramaccioni has been rebuilding this Inter team much faster than yours truly thought he could do.
That aside, the X-factor in this game is Inter Milan’s midweek game. How tired will they be? Inter did feel a very strong side, and this game is only 2 ½ days later. Any coach will tell you it’s definitely not optimal. Fiorentina has also won 8 out of 12 home games so far. That is a solid stat! As if that’s not enough: Fiorentina is getting players back aswell.
