In this season's edition of the Serie A, Fiorentina is 7-2-1 at home, while Napoli boast a 5-1-3 away record. Form wise Fiorentina has collapsed after the winter break with two straight defeats, both by two goals. Napoli on the other hand has two very strong wins, both by a margin of three goals. Last time the two teams met, it ended 0-3. Napoli scored early, and controlled the game. Fiorentina did not create much at all, but had most of the possession. The reverse fixture this season ended 2-1 for Napoli after yet another controlled Napoli display. Fiorentina were however better in this game than the previously mentioned one.
