LAZIO - UDINESE: PREDICTIONS

Very good game at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on opening weekend, it is Lazio v Udinese.

Lazio have been one of the more active clubs in the transfer window. Spending over €20 million on a wide range of players. Key transfers are midfielders Lucas Biglia and Felipe Anderson. Lazio had a great season last year and the key man in all that was Hernanes, it’s a surprise no one bigger took a chance on the Brazilian but its good news for biancoceleste. Big problems for Lazio who will probably be without their 12^th man, as the Curva Nord is likely to be closed for at least one match for the racial abuse in the Italian Supercoppa. The Suppercoppa looks a disaster for Lazio who lost 4-0 to Juventus, however the game was more equal than the scoreline suggests. With Lazio wasteful with their many shots on goal Juventus converted 4 of their 5 chances. Stefano Mauri is suspended for being a cheat and new Brazilian Anderson will not be risked in this game.

Udinese continue their business like approach to football with a series of low cost transfers on potential stars. Always on the lookout for saleable players seems to suit the Udinese team who can take players from sister clubs Granada and now Watford.  Perhaps the biggest move for Udinese was to persuade start striker Antonio Di Natale to stay on for another year, the evergreen striker really is a fantastic player.

LAZIO – UDINESE: BETTING TIPS

A very difficult game for both sides here but all the pressure will be on Lazio. Without their partisan fans in Curva Nord there will be less of an intimidating atmosphere but the authorities seem to have forgotten about the other three stands.  I think that the opening day makes this even harder so prefer to take the Asian Handicap.
