SSC NAPOLI – BOLOGNA: PREDICTIONS

The big spenders of Italy Serie A get their new project underway with a home tie against Bologna.

Napoli lost coach Walter Mazzarri to Inter but moved quickly to snap up Rafa Benitez. The Spaniard had an uneventful stint at Inter but that shouldn’t sour his reputation. Napoli lost key man Edinson Cavani to PSG but used the cash brought in to really enhance all areas of the squad. Out also goes the best defender Napoli have which is a bit mystifying.  Mazzarri took him to Inter and he will be a major loss.  Incoming for Napoli are attackers Gonzalo Higuain, Dries Mertens, Jose Callejon and Emanuele Caliao. Keeper Pepe Reina,  defenders  Albiol and Pablo Armero While Walter Gargano returns from an unsuccessful spell at Inter. For this game Pablo Armero and Blerim Dzemaili are suspended while Lorenzo Insigne (key man) is a huge doubt.

Bologna had a comfortable mid table finish last term and nothing more is on the wish list this year. Huge losses to influential players mean Bologna are considerably weaker this time round. Out goes Diego Perez, Manolo Gabbiadini and Alberto Gilardino and in the last few days Saphir Taider has gone to Inter. A huge loss in the attacking half and they miss a hell of a lot of goals and attacking influence there. They have offset the loss slighty with the impressive capture of Roland Bianchi. The former Torino hitman is a very good striker indeed and will score goals here for sure. Out for this game are Frederik Sorensen and Nicolo Cherubin with injuries.
