Napoli is 8-2-1 at the Stadio San Paolo in the Serie A this season. Sicilian Catania is 2-3-5 away from home. It must be noted that both wins for Catania has come within a range of their three last away games in the Serie A.

Both sides are in excellent form. Napoli is unbeaten in five, and 4-1-1 in their last six overall. At home Napoli is 3-2-1 in their last six. Catania has won three on the trot, and is 3-1-2 overall in their last six. Away from home they are 2-1-3 in all competitions over a range of six games.

Last time this fixture was played Catania left with a point after a 2-2 draw. Napoli was the better side by a slight margin. They even squandered a 2-0 lead as Catania bagged two late goals. The reverse fixture this season ended 0-0. That was a special game as Catania played 88 minutes with 10 men. Napoli pressured hard, but could not convert.

Defenders Campagnaro and Britos are suspended for Napoli. Gamberini (defense) is a doubt still. Influential midfielder Castro and Regular Defender Alvarez are suspended for Catania. Midfielder Lodi should return from suspension.

Napoli v Catania predictions for betting

Napoli is the better side in a player for player comparison. In the attacking phase of the game, Napoli is second best to very few in Europe. Cavani is lethal in front of goal, and he is supported well by the likes of Hamsik, Maggio, Inler, Pandev and Insigne. This season Napoli has been solid in defense when it comes to the Serie A. For this game I raise a big question mark for their defensive qualities though, as they have some quality players missing.

Catania has fewer name players, but their Argentinian contingent Bergessio, Gomez, Barrientos and suspended Castro are great at going forward. Defensively they are not as solid as Napoli, but they’ve shown they can stay compact and defend well against Napoli in previous meetings. I can't see this being a game Napoli wins big, they should however have enough to grind out a narrow 3 pointer.

 

For betting there are two options in my opinion:

Napoli at home is a tough nut to crack, and they’re capable of outscoring their opponents. You can take Napoli ½ (1.50) on the 1x2 with Paddy Power, Ladbrokes, BetVictor or or Bet365. 

Personally I am going for Catania +1.5 on the Asian Handicap. +1.5 is priced at 1.63 with Pinnacle Sports. Given the circumstances I think that is an excellent price.
