This is a to match tonight in the Italian Serie A between two giants that have not started well so far this season. Napoli is down in 12th place with just one win, three draws, and one loss so far. The loss came in the season opener away to Sassuolo, and the win came at home against Napoli. The three draws came against Sampdoria (home), Empoli (away) and Carpi (away). They have also won the first group match in the Europa League, winning nicely 5-0 last week at home to Club Brugge. There is nothing to complain about when it comes to scoring goals on home field though, as they have scored at least two goals in last seven home matches, and are undefeated in last 11 of 12 home matches. Earlier this week they tied 0-0 away to Carpi. Next Thursday they are visiting Legia Warszawa in the EL. There is no news about injuries or suspensions before tonight’s match, and the coach can select from a full squad.
Juventus is one point behind Napoli on the table, with a disappointing 1-2-2 and 5-5 in goal difference so far. They are, however, undefeated in last four matches, and managed a nice 2-1 win away to Manchester City in the Champions League. The two losses in Serie A came against Roma and Udinese, and their last match this midweek ended with just a draw 1-1 at home against the newly promoted Frosinone. For tonight’s match Juventus is missing Lichtsteiner (full back), Caceres (CB) and Khedira (DM, yet to play a game this season). Marchisio (box-to-box midfielder) is out and so is the forward Mandzukic.
The last three fixtures in Napoli has ended with 1-1-1. This looks like another even match, but Napoli is looking strong at home and should be in very good spirits due to beating Lazio 5-0 in the previous home match. Juventus is currently not in good form, so my bet is Napoli to win, odds 5/4 (2.25) with Sportmarket.
