Napoli is pushing for Serie A glory this season. The team might not be able to hold onto Cavani for much longer than this season, so it’s now or not in a while. Sampdoria is currently 22 points behind Napoli. Three easy points for Napoli? Read on!

Napoli is 9-2-1 at home with a goal difference of 30-11. Sampdoria is 3-3-6 (14-19) away from home. In terms of form Napoli is doing fine. They rested a few against Plzen in midweek, but the 3-0 loss was still surprising. Plzen defended well, but Napoli did not create too much. In the Serie A things are going better. Napoli is unbeaten in seven now, and at home they’re 4-1-1 in their last six with a goal difference of 18-7.  Sampdoria is unbeaten in their last three, and 3-2-1 overall in their last six. Away from home they are 1-2-3. Please note they are 1-1-1 in their last three away though.

Last time the sides met in Napoli it ended with a comfy 4-0 home win. The reverse fixture this season ended 0-1 in favor of “I ciucciarelli” (the little donkeys).

Team News

Roberto Colombo (Goalie) without game time for the first team this season is suspended for Napoli. Valon Behrami (Midfielder) is most likely still out. Promising young Lorenzo Insigne (Forward) might sit this one out. Angelo Palombo is out for Sampdoria. He’s been getting quite a bit of minutes in 2013. Marcelo Estigarribia (Attacking midfielder) should be fit again.

Betting predictions

Napoli was wasteful with some pretty good chances when they met Plzen this midweek. They did field a reduced, but overall strong side. It was however not to be! Plzen returned victorious to the Czech Republic after a great game from them.

I doubt the midweek game will be much of a problem for Napoli. Several key players were rested, and the ones who started the Plzen game didn’t labor too much by the looks of it. The Serie A is the main priority for Napoli, no doubt about it.

Sampdoria is on an OK run of form, but 22 points separate the two, and Napoli has one of Euorpe’s best forward lineups. 9-2-1 at home also indicates strength, doesn’t it. Just that stat indicates the odds should be 1/3 (1.33). I can’t find many valid arguments against Napoli to be honest.

1.44 (4/9) is currently available, and I think it’s fair enough for the weekend accumulators at the very least. Provider is Irish Giant Paddy Power.
